This
is the web home of the southern Gospel trio alversonboyd. They are a
group from Huntsville, Alabama. They have been compared vocally to
groups like Gaither Vocal Band, Booth Brothers, Larry Gatlin and the
Gatlin Brothers. They grew up listening to groups ranging from The
Happy Goodmans, to The Statler Brothers. Each of the guys,
Steve
Alverson, David Boyd, and Mickey Duvall, each have their personal
influences musically. David tells stories of growing up listening to
the Statler Brothers and singing at home with his mother lisening to
him learning to sing four part harmony. Steve Alverson tells of growing
up listening to groups from the 50's and 60's, and lately has become
especially fond of acapella groups like "acapella", the vocal union,
Rockapella, and others.. Mickey Duvall grew up listening to Gospel
music, and has developed a taste for some contemporary christian songs,
as well as some country gospel. All three guys have said that they like
the traditional hymns and black gospel, and just about any type music
that glorifies God, edifies the body of Christ and ministers to the
Church.
